Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to Kalkan and the Townhouse: Alarahan. To help you enjoy your stay at Alarahan,
we have prepared the following notes to help you during your time with us.
Our local management team for the house is Lycian Coast Homes led by Elena. Most of the team speak excellent English
and will be available throughout your stay to help and assist with your holiday
needs and queries that you may have.
Pool Maintenance
The pool man will call by each morning before you use the pool and each evening when you
have finished using the pool to check the pool levels and administer any necessary
maintenance and chemicals to keep the water clean and clear. He will let you
know if chemicals have been used in the evening so that you can avoid swimming until
the next morning.
Glasses by the Pool
Please – no glassware or crockery by the poolside. Any breakages would mean that
the pool would have to be drained and refilled. There are ample plastic glasses in the kitchen for your drinks outside
Shoes
It is helpful to leave your shoes by the gate when entering the property. The road
outside is unmade and we find that shoes tend to drag the dirt onto the poolside
and inside the house. Leaving your shoes by the gate will help to keep the poolside
and the pool water clean.
Water
There is a water cooler in the kitchen that takes large bottles of water. There
will be two bottles when you arrive. Please replenish these as you use them to ensure
that there is always a bottle on the cooler and another on hand. If you need additional water during your stay there is
a telephone number on the side of the cooler together with the villa number, just call and tell them the number
and a new bottle will be delivered usually within an hour or so at a cost of 6TL per bottle. Please remember that the bottles are returnable
so do not dispose of the empties, these will be collected in return for your new bottle. Should you not have an empty to return then the new water
will cost 15TL.
Smoking
The Property is Strictly Non Smoking. There are ashtrays in the kitchen cupboard
if you wish to smoke outside or
on the roof terrace.
Linen Changes/Maid Service
The house will be cleaned with fresh linen for your arrival. If you are staying
for two weeks, a linen change and maid service will be arrange for your second week.
If you require further linen changes or light cleaning, please request from Elena ,
who will arrange as service for a small charge which is payable locally.
Beach Towels
You will find beach towels in the linen store on the top floor. If you use multiple
sets, it is helpful if you wash them as you go, to avoid a large pile of dirty towels
at the end of your stay.
Dishwasher/Washing Machine
As this is a self catering holiday, a dishwasher and washing machine are available
for your use. Please replenish the detergents that you use.
Paper in the Toilets
As with many Turkish properties, the house has small bore pipes. Please use the
bins provided for your toilet paper. You will need to replenish the toilet rolls
used.
