Airport Transfers

Approximately 55GBP per taxi each way (1-3 people); Private minibus transfer approximately 75GBP (4-12 people); Limousine are available, please enquire.

Babysitting

Babysitting can be arranged through our Kalkan agents at 8GBP per hour. Please give 24 hour's notice if possible.

Banking Services

There are three banks in Kalkan with cash machines. Nearest bank is on Kalkan main street (2 minutes walk). Banking hours are Monday to Thursday from 8.00am to 1.00pm and 3.00pm to 5.00pm, Fridays 8.00am to 12.00 noon and 3.00pm to 5.00pm

Beach Facilities

Beach facilities can be found at the town beach, a couple of minutes walk away, or at one of the numerous local beach club.The Beach Clubs will provide you with sun loungers and umbrellas. There are beach towels at the house for you to use during your stay.

Bar-B-Que

There is a bar-b-que on the dining terrace by the pool.Coals are available from the supermarket or any of the local butchers.

Car Hire

Available through our kalkan agents. Car hire from approximately 25GBP per day.

Check-in Time

The usual check-in time is 3pm.

Check-out Time

Guests are requested to vacate the property by 11 am on the day of departure in order to allow preparation of the house for incoming guests. Late check-out may be available on request but will of course be subject to the status of incoming guests arrival times. 

Currency

The official currency of Turkey is the Turkish Lira (YTL). UK and Euro currency, travellers cheques and major credit cards are welcome almost everywhere in Kalkan, other areas may vary.

Doctor

There is an excellent doctor in Kalkan available 24 hours a day. Contact our agents to call out the doctor or for further details of other medical facilities

Electricity

230v (2 pin plug). There are UK plug adaptors available at the house. for other nationalities it is recommended that you bring your own.

Hairdryer

One hair dryer available in the main bedroom, and a set of staighteners are available for your use.

Laundry/Dry Cleaning

There is a washing machine and a clothes airer available at the house as well as iron and ironing board for your use. External laundry service can be arranged by request.

Maid Service

The house will be serviced with clean linen and towels for your arrival. A change of linen service will be provided each week. For further changes, please request. A mid week maid service and linen change can be arranged for a small charge locally.

Parking

There is a car park space adjacent to the house.

Passport and Immigration

UK and passport holders of other European Union country nationals require a valid passport, there is a 10GBP charge for the issue of a tourist visa on entry.

Religion

Turkey is a predominantly Muslim country although there some 3% of the polulation the practice Christianity. The nearest Christian church is in Kas.

Security

Kalkan is relatively crime free, but please exercise normal precautions and do not leave valuables unattended

Smoking

The house is strictly non-smoking. If you wish to smoke outside the house or on the roof terrance, please use an ashtray.

Swimming Pool

The private pool has a small shallow area and graduates to a depth of around 1.5 metres. Please do not take glasses out to the pool area to avoid breakages where the pool would have to be drained and refilled. There are ample plastic beakers available for your drinks outside.

Time Zone

Turkey is 2 hours ahead of the UK

Tipping

It is customary to tip service personel such as waiters and taxi drivers in Turkey , the normal amount is 10% although this is entirely at your discretion.

Weather

Turkey enjoys a warm climate year round. Daytime temperatures range from the mid-70s to the high-80s, with a constant cooling breeze year round. Nights are usually around 10 degrees cooler. Turkey is less humid than other Mediterrennean countries and has low rainfall in the summer months.

Wheelchair Accessibility

Kalkan is not particulary wheelchair friendly as the roads in the town can be steep in places.
